A Morning Routine Will Change Your Life

I’m trying something new on the platform—and I’d love for it to be the first of many: The BBP Habit Lab, aka Workshops! 

 

 

While I love teaching fitness, I also love learning and deep-diving into the systems and habits that make life better, more manageable, and less stressful so I can have more ease and chill in my life.  I’m talking about tools that help me feel more intentional with my limited time, less overwhelmed, and more focused—especially in a world where our attention is being hijacked Every.Single. Day.

My 15ish Minute Morning Meditation

  

It’s simple, short, and powerful. This workshop breaks down why morning routines matter and how they can transform your day.

 

I've heard all the science bros and their optimization cabal (Huberman, Attia, Ferris, etc) discuss morning routines for years, but I never understood why I'd actually need one. Here's what I figured out: 

 

When you PRIME your brain first thing in the morning, you set yourself on a path to a successful day.

 

Instead of chasing stray thoughts and scattered to-dos, making decisions that really don’t matter, and disappearing down the rabbit hole of that little distraction machine on your bedside table (ie, your phone), you EMBARK on a path first thing in the morning that creates the energy you need for your day.

  

Creating a morning routine has been the single most impactful shift I’ve made in 2025. I feel more passion for my life, more gratitude, and wayyy more capable—just from getting my brain on track first thing in the morning, instead of letting it spiral into the news, my inbox, or that blah “I’m not feeling it” energy.

  

💡 Note: A morning routine isn’t just what you happen to do every day. It’s a ritualized structure that removes early decision-making and builds momentum. More on that inside.

 

TL;DR — What a Morning Routine Can Do For You:

 

  • Anchor your day and set the tone

  • Eliminate decision fatigue (What should I eat? Where’s my bra? Why did I just lose 12 minutes on IG?)

  • Preserve your mental energy for the stuff that matters

  • Prevent time-sucks and aimless wandering

  • Pro tip: Phones are not allowed in Morning Routine Land

  • Especially helpful for “diffuse brains” (aka easily distracted minds like mine)

  

🌪️ Me Before (Chaos Mode):

Oversleeping, rushing, reacting

Constantly behind

Dreading mornings, living for bedtime. (Like at 9am, I sometimes wished it was already the end of the day.)

Getting kids ready, packing lunches—ZERO time for me.

Always running late.

Definitely NOT chill. 

 

🌊 Me Now (Intentional Mode)

Wake at 5:30am... and I actually like it?

Pee, drink a glass of water, do my skincare

Gua sha while doing 6–8 minutes of light movement (squats, pliés, lateral lunges for lymph support)

Coffee

Get dressed

Meditate for 15 minutes

Read my gratitude list

Write 5 near-term goals + 5 stretch goals

 

👶 Real Talk for Moms

 

I spent the past five straight years either pregnant or breastfeeding (just wrapped up nursing in March!). It's a lot. I know how hard it is to do any of this when your kid wakes up at 5am. If you’re in that season—give yourself a break. Truly.

 

But when the time comes? Reclaim your mornings. Even a small, quiet moment makes a big difference.
